No Clearer (A Lyrical Thought)

This is not my confessional
for I have not to confess
No blatant testimonial
nor comment to address
I don't come here for praises
kudos for stupid things I say
I realize all my workings
exist in all shades of gray
I'm not looking for pity
for other's suffer much worse
What I am is a joker
blessed with the ultimate curse
I am Human!

I don't have any enemies
that I've been made aware of
but I have keen sensibilities
that keep me wary of love
I approach everything I do
with a bit of apprehension
which may make me seem equivocal
as to the root of my intension
but as unpredictable
as I may seem
there's really only one thing
you need to know about me
I am Human!

I am Human!
If you really want to know me
take a good look at yourself
I'm the same flesh and body
just like everyone else
I feel the same emotions
that you feel everyday
and I can almost guarantee you
we feel them in a similar way
So now that I've said my peace here
I will turn and genuflect
all I ask is some courtesy
for my lacking self respect
because
