Your bombastic ways do not impress me.
But how high and mighty you are
you think
Whining about your popularity
Sniveling about those who clamor
at your door for your precious attention
Moaning about poor old you.
Yelling your words so none have a
choice but to hear
Screaming your insults and soggy wit
Spraying lambs with false charm and
bloated ego
I'll let the clique decide. Perhaps... to yourself and
those who enjoy your noise
I cover my ears..

Coyote And Bobcat
One day a clever Coyote
Bounced from hill to hill
But when a Bobcat spotted him
He froze his heartbeat still
Unsure what his next move would be
Bobcat crouched down low
And with insatiable curiosity
Approached Coyote slow
Coyote did not make a move
He did not chance to breathe
But Bobcat knew that clever pup
Had something up his sleeve
With claws withdrawn and hidden close
Bobcat prepared to pounce
But in a flash Coyote's wit
Escaped her with a bounce
Bounced from hill to hill
But when a Bobcat spotted him
He froze his heartbeat still
Unsure what his next move would be
Bobcat crouched down low
And with insatiable curiosity
Approached Coyote slow
Coyote did not make a move
He did not chance to breathe
But Bobcat knew that clever pup
Had something up his sleeve
With claws withdrawn and hidden close
Bobcat prepared to pounce
But in a flash Coyote's wit
Escaped her with a bounce
In The Shallows
Like sunlight on steel
Perfect precision
Razor sharp
Sleek and silent by design
Powerful and deadly
Brilliant shape and form
Patrolling the azure waters
A brief hint of presence
Disappearing into shadow
Alerting the shores
Engaging the gulls
Shivering the fish
Staining the waters
Pink then red
Stillness comes
Again she waits
Perfect precision
Razor sharp
Sleek and silent by design
Powerful and deadly
Brilliant shape and form
Patrolling the azure waters
A brief hint of presence
Disappearing into shadow

Engaging the gulls

Lilith
The heat of the day is intense
Still you shudder
The pain within these bones is immense
Like no other
Dragged down by the weight of
your mind
You know the world out there is
so unkind
Lilith don't wander aimless all alone
Take off your crown and step down
from your thrown
Queen of nothing and fool for the day
Perhaps your life was meant to be
that way...
Still you shudder

That
Letting emotions get the better of you
Losing the place where you're at
Honing in too little self control
Surely you can do better than that
Disguised behind cold blue eyes
Within the smile of a old gray cat
But the words run deeper still
Surely you are better than that
Letting the water well run dry
Dead flowers upon where you sat
The song only really matters to you
Surely you know better than that
Remember the person you once knew
Never mind a tit for a tat
Keep the rhythm closer to you
Surely you can handle that
Face the open road out there
Don't let your mind grow too fat
Turn the chapter to the next page
Surely you are stronger than that
Losing the place where you're at
Honing in too little self control
Surely you can do better than that
Disguised behind cold blue eyes
Within the smile of a old gray cat

The Game Master
Now let me think...
Aaahh... yes I suggest
We conduct a little test
Lets us see
just what a clever
elf you are
So the game is afoot
As you so eloquently put
You'll need every skill
to defeat me sir by far
I'll even give you a head start
What I speak here is not art
But a banter with imp without a face
Call out your wit here on high
Deflect my barbs on the fly
And I'll make you disappear without a trace
Come on now faster faster
Can't you keep up with my laughter
Surely talent is a goblin's best defense
Here you are on level one
And I'm just starting to have fun
Wait until this competition gets intense
Come now then on your toes
I think everybody knows
You are nothing but a child
with a pen
And if this is how you play
Let me make it clear today
Set the game board up
I'll beat your butt again!

A Question For Truth
What is it worth
To us in youth
When we are raised up
To tell the truth?
Does it make us better
Than little white lies
Are the grand ones
Our own disguise
Is it perception
Within our minds
Bound to hard facts
Choked on insight
Is it worth coming clean
Do you favor honesty
When protecting everything
From the hardship you could bring
They say truth
is possibly
the very best
in policy
But ask a man
for his opinion
He may lie
for his dominion
There is no honor
Just what we see
and what we think
Our words might mean
I question life
In all it's forms
For even great truth
Has it's thorns...
To us in youth
When we are raised up
To tell the truth?
Does it make us better
Than little white lies
Are the grand ones
Our own disguise
Is it perception

Daydream Interrupted
It happened again today
I let daydreams get the best of me
Walking into walls
Whistling down the halls
Pretending to be free
Found myself lost in another world
So I thought I'd spend some time
Playing in a summer rain
Humming the same refrain
Pretending I could fly
Then I wandered down a busy street
Paying no mind to the folks walking by
Until a curious stranger
With flashing eyes of danger
Caught my roving eyes
I turned my head to get a better look
At the figure who was watching me
Meeting his seductive stare
No one else around seemed to care
He held his hand out to me
His charm was far more than I could resist
I felt the pull to meet his touch
Feeling the heat under my skin
Would this be how it would begin
The yearning became too much
But I was lost in daydreams again
Wishing this one would keep playing out
Until reality broke my concentration
Imagine my insolent frustration
But that's what daydreams are all about
I let daydreams get the best of me
Walking into walls
Whistling down the halls
Pretending to be free
Found myself lost in another world
So I thought I'd spend some time
Playing in a summer rain
Humming the same refrain
Pretending I could fly

Infamous Clown
I am my own worst enemy
As plain as anyone with eyes can see
I'm nothing special not some mystery
Just a clown with a heart of gold
In a flash make a friend then watch them burn
Worked over so many times but I don't learn
I wish someone else would step in and take my turn
But no one else would be so bold
I give my heart far too freely it's true
My messed up lot in life turns my green eyes blue
I've tried to shake this curse my whole life through
And it's turning my heart cold
I'm sick and tired of being misunderstood
They'd hang my body on a chunk of wood
I'd spit in all their faces if I could
I'll take this hand I'm dealt and fold
Perhaps it's time to set the other side free
That evil creature lurking deep inside of me
Maybe then the blind will finally see
Their own ignorance foretold
Yes I think it's time my friends
To bring this final chapter to an end
Put away your gossip rags and try to pretend
You never knew me
Just a fleeting memory
Nothing here left to see
Taking my place in infamy
As plain as anyone with eyes can see
I'm nothing special not some mystery
Just a clown with a heart of gold
In a flash make a friend then watch them burn
Worked over so many times but I don't learn

Blocks and Pegs
The square peg can't fit in the round hole
And the round hole is too small
The triangle has three sides
The line has only one
And you're banging pegs in
Awkward places making lots of noise
Others hold there ears to silence
The pounding in their heads
You try too hard to fit a mold
Not tailored for you
What is the point in making
The world try to accept you
I'll give you a little hint at
What causes my misery
I am not what it is my heart
Truly wishes to be
I live trying to satisfy the rules
Instead of doing what my heart
Would have me do
Is complete self sacrifice good enough
Or would the world have more
You see you can not make
Them all happy
So try it on yourself instead
Slip into the round hole the round peg
And the round hole is too small
The triangle has three sides
The line has only one
And you're banging pegs in

Becoming The Wind
Sometimes spoken words we do not mean
Said under circumstances
Hardened hearts reprimanded
Just remember we are all just trying
Making our way as best as we can
Think with a heart not with a brain
Jump out of the way of that roaring train
Go easy on each other
Sister to sister
Brother to brother
Sometimes we try to get revenge
For the blows we took in the past
It may work for a while
But only eats you up inside
Why waste the glow of yourself
On time already gone
Instead try singing a different song
Go easy on each other
Brother to sister
Sister to brother
Love for Love's sake not for gain
I can not stress it enough
We are all imperfect no matter what
How good can bad be
Where there is always something better
Waiting after the dust settles
So go easy on each other
Mother to children
Children to mother
When you feel that fist forming
Keep you mind alert with warning
For those whom the hit contacts
Do not punch back
Become the wind
What happens when you assault the wind...
Go easy on each other
Lover to lover
Father to mother
Tired of punching into the wind
Go easy on each other
Harm none...become the wind
Said under circumstances
Hardened hearts reprimanded
Just remember we are all just trying
Making our way as best as we can
Think with a heart not with a brain

Figment of Imagination
Tearful eyes
Why so sad
A world awaits
You should be glad
Take my hand
And dance with me
I'll make it better
You will see
Take this mask
And hide your face
slow down your steps
It's not a race
Don't worry now
No one will care
If a bit
Of fun we share
Don't be nervous
Take your time
Have a drink
It's on my dime
Have another
Soon you'll feel
This crazy scene
Is not so real
Each dancing mask
Is a fake
Your words they hear
Your heart they'll take
Brush them aside
And watch my eyes
I'll lift your spirit
To the sky's
Follow my lead
Adjust your feet
Your smiling face
Is very sweet
I kiss your lips
Caress your hair
You can not break
My charming stare
I'm but a memory
Heart's gentle pawn
Don't blink to slowly
Too soon I'm gone
Why so sad
A world awaits
You should be glad
Take my hand
And dance with me
I'll make it better
You will see
Take this mask

Split
All of those verses that you love so much
I asked you for strength and you gave me a crutch
A wave of your hand and a false human touch
If only your words were as honest as such
Standing aloft on a canyon cliff side
I watched a witchdoctor take his sweet bride
My heart screamed with terror with no where to hide
And I was swept unwilling along for the ride
I watched his sickness demand of her will
No matter the heartache she would submit still
The rage that consumed me would give me my fill
And I felt an angry desire to kill
Within my own body was something unreal
A monstrous creature who's flesh could not feel
A hot deck of cards as a fool's hand would deal
Deep within my silence my own fate would seal
On so it goes with the power so great
As one that can fester in dungeons of hate
Split down the middle is something irate
When innocence falls for a witchdoctor's bait
Now is a creature of dark and of light
An angel by day and a devil by night
Shackled by chains that cut in far too tight
A wrongful approach turns her bark into bite
A challenge to reconcile two sides into one
A minx by the night and a jewel in the sun
A balancing act where the winner is none
A tempestuous past she will never outrun
Don't live with the pain is what I have been told
Yet walk in my shoes and you won't be so bold
The eyes of this tyrant grow ever so cold
Though wicked in mind her love sweet to behold
I asked you for strength and you gave me a crutch
A wave of your hand and a false human touch
If only your words were as honest as such

Fading Star
Would you seek to own the stars
Do they not shine for all to see
Shrouded in wisdom's mystery
Would you seek to own a heart
Who would give anything to make smile
Any who would accept it for a while
Do we not cherish the stars for what they are
The little of them that we know
Tiny lights on which our dreams grow
The inspiration of a thousand ideas
Many the object of the arts
Forever imprinted upon our hearts
Neither good nor bad the stars are
Just as enigmatic as our troubled minds
Our faces scarred with painful lines
Too many streets I've wandered
Offering a star to every stranger I meet
As time's blazing sun burns my feet
Here all I can offer to you my friend
Through the darkness of my night
Is a fading dim of starlight
Do they not shine for all to see
Shrouded in wisdom's mystery
Would you seek to own a heart
Who would give anything to make smile
Any who would accept it for a while
Do we not cherish the stars for what they are

Taking A Trip To Hell
A cold mist creeps over the reeds tonight
The icy eyes of scorn are frosted with thought...
What of these who would have those burn to keep their rules
Spewing forth their wisdom like barbaric tools?
This monster does not hail to god nor man
This life is far to short to waste on morality's drudgery hand
Who gave them power to command my will with guilt?
If I am felonious of being human let the scales tilt!
All the pompous preaching of the perfectly pious
Have not stopped our wars and only serve to mask the self righteous
Twas their gods and men who invented freaks the likes of me
And now I'm bound to bow and heed their hypocrite's decree?
To walk like sheep or lambs to the slaughter to cover up a sin
Because some sick hearted do gooder had evil seeds within
Does not seem very fair to me what pray thee was my crime?
Ask they of me to serve a sentence locked away in time?
This sinner, monster, Jezebel sees far into your soul
More sick than I more twisted still your intentions start to grow
Here I stand on hills of ruins the cruel gods and men would sell
If living up to your gods is heaven I'd rather burn in hell
The icy eyes of scorn are frosted with thought...
What of these who would have those burn to keep their rules
Spewing forth their wisdom like barbaric tools?

Ignorance Tribunals
Who are you to judge the i
Sitting on your thrown
Your higher than the mighty ways
Make me force a groan
i do not have the wealth of time
To sit about and wait
While those who look so down on me
My fate negotiate
Those who laugh in ignorance
At what they misunderstand
Had better get their acts together
Their time is at hand
For one day when their lives are shattered
They will pay the price
Before you judge the lives of others
Use your head...think twice
Sitting on your thrown
Your higher than the mighty ways
Make me force a groan

Mice Games
When the cat is away the mice will play
Which I find quite amusing
Not that they play that gives me paws
But the company of their choosing
The mice will play with rats you see
And many other vermin
Who dig though other critters trash
And keep the gossip churnin
On they peep, snicker and squeak
When they think the cat isn't looking
What does not seem to hit them yet
Is what that cat has cooking
You never see a Cheshire cat
Except his toothy grin
If it's mischief mice prefer
Then let the games begin...

Noble Lion
A noble Lion of great beauty
And a mighty roar
Kept a harem of lionesses
Prowling round his door
Each feline that he wooed
He did with elegance and charm
And with respect he gently held them
On his mighty arm
His pride was such the burning envy
Of other pompous males
Under their noses would his women
Flick their enticing tails
Their rejection enraged the lions
Who's confusion was overwhelming
But the lionesses wisely knew
When males were foolishly pretending
What was it that they saw in him
How did he keep them close
Twas the truth of the noble Lion
His ladies adored the most
And a mighty roar
Kept a harem of lionesses
Prowling round his door
Each feline that he wooed
He did with elegance and charm

Scarecrow
Standing aloft in a golden tufted field
Amidst the wheat and hops of yore
Where ales brewed for the finest Celts
Bring spirits high worth fighting for
The Scarecrow drifts motionless
In tattered suit and rags he flutters
Dreaming of the fjords green
The spirits of the ancients muttered
The fog that descends the hills to sea
Blanket the waters rushing with haste
To make the unwary close to harm
As rock protrudes in waves encased
Such beauty is the stuff of dreams
The Scarecrow longs to see them
For a King left without a soul
Is opened up to treason
The Scarecrow knows the secret tales
The stories of great leaders past
Mighty empires fall to ruin
When the crows descend at last
Alone he stands against the wind
To the dust he would protect
For long ago a fool foretold
The Scarecrow lost respect
Amidst the wheat and hops of yore
Where ales brewed for the finest Celts
Bring spirits high worth fighting for
The Scarecrow drifts motionless
In tattered suit and rags he flutters
Dreaming of the fjords green

A Simple View
Life is an answer unto itself
Keep the pace as yours to each day
Live as though no other sunrise will you see
Open your spirit up to possibilities
Expect nothing of Life
Take not from the world
Harm not
Waste not
Leave unsoiled all of great beauty
Respect that which is and that which gives
Luxuriate in the lush of Life
Derive from all experience that touches
Simply live to be
Seek to understand more than what you are
This gift is that which you create
Share the light with all who would gaze upon it
For this is the right of the maker
Whatever form it is
Be gentle upon the earth
Look kindly upon your brothers
Respect the inner realms of the mind
Question not your existence.
Keep the pace as yours to each day
Live as though no other sunrise will you see
Open your spirit up to possibilities
Expect nothing of Life
Take not from the world
Harm not
Waste not
Leave unsoiled all of great beauty
Respect that which is and that which gives
Luxuriate in the lush of Life
Derive from all experience that touches
Simply live to be
Seek to understand more than what you are
This gift is that which you create
Share the light with all who would gaze upon it
For this is the right of the maker

Be gentle upon the earth
Look kindly upon your brothers
Respect the inner realms of the mind
Question not your existence.
Gypsy Wanderings
As I lay back to rest
On tall grasses
In my lace black dress
The wanderer I begins to roam
Over snow peaked mountains
Down to the hills
Into the valley below
In the shade of the swaying trees
I walk these paths taking in the scents
Feeling the cool of the breeze
My mind is quiet my thoughts complete
I hear only
My own heart beat
Here my inner privacy
Is where I find
Better musings come to me
Exploring this place
With my hands
Gently upon each surface I trace
The more I travel the more I learn
And with each touch
I feel a yearn
A need to come
To the highest peak
After the climb
My strength grows weak
The dew upon the leaves
of the trees
falls playfully upon me
And from this high I can see
The valley filled
From the creek
As the waters rush upon
The stand of a mighty oak tree
So tranquil a picture painted here
My own heavy breath
Flows fast and clear
The air is thin when up so high
In ecstasy I touch the sky
On tall grasses
In my lace black dress
The wanderer I begins to roam
Over snow peaked mountains
Down to the hills
Into the valley below
In the shade of the swaying trees
I walk these paths taking in the scents
Feeling the cool of the breeze
My mind is quiet my thoughts complete
I hear only
My own heart beat
Here my inner privacy
Is where I find
Better musings come to me
Exploring this place
With my hands
Gently upon each surface I trace
The more I travel the more I learn
And with each touch
I feel a yearn
A need to come
To the highest peak
After the climb
My strength grows weak
The dew upon the leaves
of the trees
falls playfully upon me
And from this high I can see
The valley filled
From the creek
As the waters rush upon
The stand of a mighty oak tree
So tranquil a picture painted here
My own heavy breath
Flows fast and clear
The air is thin when up so high
In ecstasy I touch the sky

Silent Symphony
I can hear the music start to grow
Slowly in my ears
As my mind weaves starlight and sunlight
Into a symphony
If only I could bring the sound
from my head
To my fingertips in golden drips
Across the paper waiting
With open white
And black lines holding the notes
in place
When my heart sings my mind
Scribbles endlessly
Trying so desperately to capture
The essence of my soul
So you would know
How it swells, growing louder
With each beat that's played
Upon my heart strings
Voice of my soul sings
My Mandolin plays
Through silent lips
Breathing whispers
Quiet cries and moans inside
Silver waves crash in harmony
Like a song bird's flight to ecstasy
Like a delicious madness in me
My hands they tremble
My instincts humble
To the voice that sings within
The floating colors
The flashing twinkles
Is where it all begins
A single note upon a page
Slowly in my ears
As my mind weaves starlight and sunlight
Into a symphony
If only I could bring the sound
from my head
To my fingertips in golden drips
Across the paper waiting
With open white
And black lines holding the notes
in place
When my heart sings my mind
Scribbles endlessly
Trying so desperately to capture
The essence of my soul
So you would know

Is where it all begins
A single note upon a page
A Moments Despair
I think too much
I know it
But if I don't
I'll blow it
Each situation
Needs evaluation
While life passes me by
I'm not here to hurt anyone
And you'll see I'm sincere when I'm done
But this heart's been beaten far too many times
Don't care if this means anything to anyone
Don't care if there's reason to these rhymes
Whatever life is it is
I've learned it the hard way
Perhaps the only way to true happiness
Is on a different highway
Don't know why I come here
It's just a place
Another nameless person
Without a face
Yet I see danger and hatred
Everywhere I look
Disappointed and disillusioned
I close my book
But each day brings another chance
To limber up and start to dance
Faster and faster the rhythm beats
As my footsteps pound the streets
With each slap and cut each forceful blow
My strength and agility continue to grow
So perhaps there is hope within the pain
Or else all this time nothing I've gained
I watched my father burn the fire
Without control he fueled it higher
Until one day the flame went out
And now I understand what it's all about
Our time here is short at best
Every day our self worth put to the test
Perhaps happiness is a lost illusion
Dieing away in the midst of confusion
What is most import to you this day
If you had to could you change your ways
Or would you continue on in silent pain
Hating the sunshine loving the rain
I know it
But if I don't
I'll blow it
Each situation
Needs evaluation
While life passes me by
I'm not here to hurt anyone
And you'll see I'm sincere when I'm done
But this heart's been beaten far too many times

Fear Of The Water
Would you have the courage
To dip your eyes below
Open to a world
Where life brims at full glow
Where the cool of the dark depths beckon
Where the warm shallows amaze and delight
Where beauty turns terror in the night
Would you be so bold
To let your breath go
And trust the rushing currents flow
Where mystery dwells with those unknown
Where not all life is flesh and bone
Where vast sands meet rock and stone
Would you take that step
Into eternal depth
Trusting the lady
Who brings the summer rains
Who washes mankind's stains
Who grinds away organic remains
Would you understand
With your delicate hand
She who your life commands
Who could make you disappear
Who could drown you with your own fear
Who makes history unclear
Forever upon this earth
Retakes of life and brings new birth
Is it worth the risk you take
For the trouble she could make
My own fear upon she feeds
As she changes up her leads
Though mankind would make her bleed
She can take back what she needs
Respect she will demand
So be gentile with your hand
Keep your feet on steady track
What she gives she can take back
To dip your eyes below
Open to a world
Where life brims at full glow
Where the cool of the dark depths beckon
Where the warm shallows amaze and delight
Where beauty turns terror in the night
Would you be so bold
To let your breath go
And trust the rushing currents flow

Only A Fool Would Know
How to free fall into a stone wall
How to dance naked for all in the fire
How to sing songs of death in a marriage choir
Only a fool would know
How to run from the pain of what he inflicted
How to joke with the king without being restricted
How to stab his own heart and then pull it apart
Only a fool would know
How to hold to his secrets in fearful places
How to hide his sorrow from jeering faces
How to mimic the shadows in steps he traces
Only a fool would know
There isn't much to him but deep introspection
There's no need to make known any more
Drunk on the pain of those who reject him
Smile and wink shake his hand close the door
How to dazzle your eyes with a trick or two
How to live with the lies of a life he once knew
How to battle the gales with those holes in his sails
Only a fool would know
How to scare all the priests that would banish him
How to dare all the preachers that lash at him
How to love all the liars that respected him
Only a fool would know
How he gifts you a rose though his heart grows rot
How he lifts up cold eyes though his spirit is hot
How he made you believe he was something he's not
Only a fool would know
Only a fool would know
How to dance naked for all in the fire
How to sing songs of death in a marriage choir
Only a fool would know

Little Sparrow
One little sparrow sings softly in a flock
The others scream screech and squawk
How she tries to make them hear
The flock's disinterest makes it very clear
Their noise their screaming
Far too loud
To have any real meaning...
One sparrow's song slowly dies today
Caught up in the wind and swept away
In a song alone atop her perch
Is a soul lost within it's search
No one hears the little notes play
Caught up in the wind and swept away
Steel cage doors keep her trapped inside
When the storm winds come there's no where to hide
The roaring of their negative words
Are all that come out of the other birds
Though she knows she could risk the escape
The price she pays might be too great
What would she stand to gain or lose
If flying away is what she'd choose
A big heart is so often a curse
Though in life there can be far worse
So little sparrow continues to sing
Hoping for herself a little peace to bring
If she could hear past the blackbird's screams
She'd hear the other sparrows sweetly sing...
The others scream screech and squawk
How she tries to make them hear
The flock's disinterest makes it very clear
Their noise their screaming
Far too loud
To have any real meaning...
One sparrow's song slowly dies today
Caught up in the wind and swept away

Madame Rose
One of man's most treasured flowers
Is kept in beautiful crystal towers
Bred in colors of many a tone
Endless in story and poetry grown
The treasure of all a romantic be
The perfect picture of lush beauty
But it takes not but a moment
While taking in it's gifted scent
Upon her stems angry and bent
Her thorns erupted to keep and protect
The delicate wonder upon her tip
The ignorant of hand would rip
But to those who approach
With wonder and care
Rewarded are they with treasure so rare
A gentle snip with the sharpened blade
And a wonderful new bloom is made
No greater gift has nature's prose
Than the exotic magic of the Rose
Is kept in beautiful crystal towers
Bred in colors of many a tone
Endless in story and poetry grown
The treasure of all a romantic be
The perfect picture of lush beauty
But it takes not but a moment
While taking in it's gifted scent
Upon her stems angry and bent

The Properties Of Love
This world does judge us all
As the Grande Dame watches
Like domino's do we fall
To each rule made up as we go along...
What then the rules of love?
The lines drawn the perimeters determined
By whom but we, fools all
To bring down life to a dead stall
Over and over it is preached
On the workings of love
But never do the rules remain the same
Some unwritten sentence of blame
Why a gift so divine as this is restricted...
To what end my friends?
For if love is so as it is believed
Why then is it not for all to partake?
Why licensed to one? Why shared with a few
Where has this led us to?
This almighty emotion that causes the commotion
Must be good enough to give to you
Why then the limits?
Does Love have the same face in all
That when described the vision is the same?
Yet, while nearly exact, one fact remains
Each definition is not the same
While we all know it by it's name
We would seek to harness love
Even unto the gods above
So, another label this?
Or, will it be allowed to be
As it is, what it is, a sigh of caring
Worth sharing, worth daring
A ceremony does not love make
A caring heart does not love break
Love knows no bounds by it's own definition
That very one we have given
It falls into disinterest when not cultivated
When rejected and hated
Much like ourselves it's very name our persona
To explain the growing within still debated
Do not seek to label or capture the aspects
They do not fall neatly into organized catalogs
Nor any dictatorial scholar agreed upon
The subtle nuances of it's abstracts
Perhaps it is the absence of hate, anger and jealousy
No matter what the shape it may take
So what then does it matter to the mix?
No longer Love when stirred with politics
Society demands of me to believe
But I can not conceive of Love
With rules and regulations
As I watch our own degradations
My friends, we choose selfishly for Love's sake
When it is for the care and need of others
That in Love we should give or take
I say it grows from what we cultivate
Not many will agree with me...
For like any commodity
Love is bought and sold at some price
And now degenerated becomes a vice
A spirit free of societies judgemental fears
Will know Love as it is meant to be
Without a name, face or voice...not for sale
But gifted by choice
As the Grande Dame watches
Like domino's do we fall
To each rule made up as we go along...

Lady Sea
In the coolness of her waters
In the foam upon her waves
Come to ride the crystal blue
For the ocean loves her slaves
The crashing of her passion
Upon bodies on the sand
Invokes their inhibitions
She controls the world of land
Though he is strong
And cut of stone as hardened as can be
Her persistent pleasures
Wear him down eventually
And though he stands against her power
She has the upper hand
The Sea controls the very hour
And on his chest her brand
Though he might be superior
In certain act or deed
She is the answer to all questions
And why he'll never leave
Her calm caress ensnares all men
No matter what they be
Her charms transcend the eons
And set their spirits free
No matter how they come to it
They can not run and hide
Upon her hips the lust of ships
Is her will to decide
They come from every walk of life
To bask in her reflected glow
And beg her fevered passions kiss
Revealing her treasures down below
But should mood strike an angry cord
The men will pay for disrespecting
Any aspect of her body
She feels they are rudely dissecting
Though her fickle nature can cause distress
She dotes upon the very best
Men who seduce and take a chance
Will earn her love without false romance
No other woman upon this earth
Commands her worth and qualities
And with a flash of azure eyes
The men of ships fall to their knees
In the foam upon her waves
Come to ride the crystal blue
For the ocean loves her slaves
The crashing of her passion
Upon bodies on the sand
Invokes their inhibitions
She controls the world of land
Though he is strong
And cut of stone as hardened as can be

Trumpet Of The Revealer
Lo! False criers
hiding behind your self righteous sick
Smelling of hypocrisy to that
of which you hold complete ignorance
You are that is I!
The same flesh, same scent, same animal
Yes! Animals are we!
Basic of need
Unquenchable of want
Deceitful in gain
Hunters of the weak
Would you be higher than your self then?
Higher than your primitive slop
You will not hiding
You will not holding high court
over those you deem less than worthy...
To those of wisdom will you loose it all
And fall
Faces to the dust
We are what we are!
When we are wise...
we are beautiful
comforting, loving
open to all who would love
for Love's sake
instead of their own
hiding behind your self righteous sick
Smelling of hypocrisy to that
of which you hold complete ignorance
You are that is I!
The same flesh, same scent, same animal
Yes! Animals are we!
Basic of need
Unquenchable of want

Leopard's Prey
Heated volcanic eyes pierce the storm swept skies
A shadow of death creeping ever closer to the cause
Watching from the depths of darkness
Focused, intense, deadly paws
Ears sharply pinned low
As white wires brush back to lay down
Making of the onyx crown sharp and sure
The aerodynamics of the coldly serious frown
A rumbling within the ribcage
Vibrates each hair though still will keep
Soon the hunt will be over
The lethal blow will end the sweep
Arrogant grazer with not but speed
Ignores the danger without a second glance
To the quiet place within it's midst
Now is taken from it the last chance
There is a rush and a crack of sound
A disturbance within the calm of the moment
A force too powerful to ignore
Takes this grazer to the floor
White blades make the final cut
Ending the heartbeat of the lazy
Young and foolish pitiful thing
Never even felt the sting
A shadow of death creeping ever closer to the cause
Watching from the depths of darkness
Focused, intense, deadly paws
Ears sharply pinned low
As white wires brush back to lay down
Making of the onyx crown sharp and sure
The aerodynamics of the coldly serious frown

Loneliness
Surrounded by a crowd
loneliness can be found
pulled apart and left to pieces
a rag doll cast aside and left in shreds
after the fun is had
loneliness begs the company
of the white ghost
on the winter steed
The handsome figure
away from here he'll lead
loneliness
to a crystal river
on a distant shore
to be at peace
forever more
Lost in the safety of his embrace
Without thought to time and space
she weeps
she sleeps
wrapped in his strength
and the warmth of his light
cradled through the night
renewed by his fire
filled with his desire
energized by courage and life
Again she will return
to the here and now
to await the turmoil of confusion
brought on by the loss of delusion
and the cold hard crack of reality
broad sides her face
in punishment and disgrace
Over and over
loneliness takes her beating
still believing
in the white ghost
on the white steed
filling the void
when she is in need
loneliness can be found
pulled apart and left to pieces
a rag doll cast aside and left in shreds
after the fun is had
loneliness begs the company
of the white ghost
on the winter steed
The handsome figure
away from here he'll lead

Quiet Confidant
Quietly she listens
eyes cast down in a frown
Softly her eyes glisten
As she knows what she knows
Will be another
Cross to bare
Though unfair
She can't help but care
They all come running
Into her arms
When the air
Fills with siren alarms
And all those secrets
That she keeps unknown
Emerge as chips into her bones
In everything
She stands alone
Turning her coat up against the rain
Shielding her heart from the pain
Lost in the emptiness
That grew within the world
That she once knew
She''s here for me
She's here for you
The Confidant
listening
speaks not a word
just a mirror of what you thought you heard
no matter how absurd
Again she brings peace
As away she drifts
Into the sands
With a wold within her hands...
eyes cast down in a frown
Softly her eyes glisten
As she knows what she knows
Will be another
Cross to bare
Though unfair
She can't help but care
They all come running
Into her arms

Queen Of Dreams
Is the queen of dreams what she seems
Does she dazzle does she sing
Does she charm birds on the wing
Can she rule the many with a smile
Can she overcome the lazy with her style
Would she flash a stare and resurrect a hope that had died
Would you trust her if she knew you lied
Is the queen of dreams really what she seems?
When she whisks you away does she make promises she never keeps
Does she tell you you're pretty and perfect whenever you sleep
Is she there drying your tears
Casting away the years whenever she appears
The queen is that of dreams
only dreams where the sleigh bell rings
Like an evening storm
Gone by the dawn
A player of people
A lover of lies
A mistress of disguise
Cloaked in the clouds of the skies
When forgotten she cries...
Does she dazzle does she sing
Does she charm birds on the wing
Can she rule the many with a smile
Can she overcome the lazy with her style
Would she flash a stare and resurrect a hope that had died
Would you trust her if she knew you lied
Is the queen of dreams really what she seems?

A Heart Too Opened
Now it occurs to me
Whatever respect I may have had from anyone
Could be gone in the flash
Of ink on page
Because originality was not appeased
Instead a song writ from a pained heart
controlled the the pen
After the last streamer falls
And the last of the confetti has twirled it's way to the floor
The silence looms, the mess revealed
and the music is gone
Imagination will suffer a forceful blow
And so I brace for it
Standing beneath the pointed fingers of the accusers
Awaiting sentence for the crime
of showing feelings and having a heartbeat
Whatever respect I may have had from anyone
Could be gone in the flash
Of ink on page
Because originality was not appeased
Instead a song writ from a pained heart
controlled the the pen
After the last streamer falls
And the last of the confetti has twirled it's way to the floor
The silence looms, the mess revealed
and the music is gone
Imagination will suffer a forceful blow
And so I brace for it
Standing beneath the pointed fingers of the accusers
Awaiting sentence for the crime
of showing feelings and having a heartbeat
The Strange Girl In The Corner
Today is my date of birth
Forty one years upon this earth
You would figure a fool by now
Would figure it out somehow
But the years just keep rolling on
And I think that my failure's won
I have never lived up to be
The things that they've asked of me
Every day is a mystery
All the things I refuse to see
Though I'm told I am one of worth
I disappear into the earth...
Falling far from open blue skies
Oh man wonder if I'll realize
There's nothing within these eyes
I've left them empty
Look for hope within the art halls
No man nothing here will ever show
And no one will ever know
Who is the girl from Mars
If you're now starting to inquire
Of the tune from which this poem's inspired
Then I've let too much weakness show
Though there's so much more you could know
But the Maestro sings in my head
He'll conduct this thing until I am dead
It's the melody not the song
Because my wording is set up wrong
Though each time I think now it's right
Inside me will be another fight
Though I know I could try again
There's not much left to give of
My life standing in vacuum
This time wonder if this is a sign
Is this mess really mine and can I change it
How do I approach a new art
Dear god, wonder if I have the heart
To try and make a new start
For the girl from Mars
Inspired by the music of David Bowie
Forty one years upon this earth
You would figure a fool by now
Would figure it out somehow
But the years just keep rolling on
And I think that my failure's won
I have never lived up to be
The things that they've asked of me
Every day is a mystery
All the things I refuse to see
Though I'm told I am one of worth
I disappear into the earth...
Falling far from open blue skies
Oh man wonder if I'll realize
There's nothing within these eyes
I've left them empty
Look for hope within the art halls
No man nothing here will ever show
And no one will ever know
Who is the girl from Mars
If you're now starting to inquire
Of the tune from which this poem's inspired
Then I've let too much weakness show
Though there's so much more you could know
But the Maestro sings in my head
He'll conduct this thing until I am dead

Not A Moments Peace
Being alone in solitude is a dangerous place to be
For soon I'll feel his wickedness sidle up to me
Feeling his chin upon my shoulder sends shivers of delight
To feel this way, be lead astray simply can't be right
Those sinuous arms creep 'round and rest tempting on my chest
I fold my arms in defiance across my heaving breast
A mocking pout meanders out from his beckoning lips
I feel a wave of flushing warmth from my head to my fingertips
Abruptly I rise and now demand a moment to myself
A smile and wink makes me rethink his lure very stealth
Why must it be that any time I get a moments peace
I find myself locked in battle with this charming beast
Perhaps if my heart were more wicked his interest would then wane
For is it not his own reflection that is his greatest bane
But I can not bring myself to be a source of evil intention
For I grow weak and cowardly upon the subject mention
Surely there is something else that he can find to do
Perhaps instead of hounding me he can go pester you
Take care if you should get the urge and offer it to he
Keep him not with you too long and send him back to me
For soon I'll feel his wickedness sidle up to me
Feeling his chin upon my shoulder sends shivers of delight
To feel this way, be lead astray simply can't be right
Those sinuous arms creep 'round and rest tempting on my chest
I fold my arms in defiance across my heaving breast

What She Wants
Go ahead and follow her that thing you think you treasure
She'll be watching from back there just for safety's measure
You'll never know she's fuming at the sight in which she's looming
Lest her green eyes start their glowing and it will be you unknowing
The flashing fangs of this beast are hidden when center of attention
But should your eyes go wandering or another name is mentioned
You risk your life on the edge of a knife for she will not tolerate
Another sharing the affections of her magistrate
Sometimes she makes it very clear sometimes she broods in silence
Either way you best not stay when she invokes her violence
Demanding all that she has not is paramount to her feast
She wants what's better than the rest right now to say the least
Her greed insatiable to the fool who gives and gives it all
For as he thinks he has her pleased...again the whining call
The shining one the perfect one better than the rest
Whatever you must do DO IT so she can have the best
And what she does with all these things are flaunt them here and there
But what she doesn't realize is that no one gives a care
Jealousy dear Jealousy this fool can not keep up
Though he is always filling... filling...empty is your cup
She'll be watching from back there just for safety's measure
You'll never know she's fuming at the sight in which she's looming
Lest her green eyes start their glowing and it will be you unknowing

The Riddlers
Speaking in tongues
still unknown to some
they banter to and fro
They scream secrets
from the mountains
and let all things be known
Thought blatant though
their shouts appear
so many do not seem to hear
In muddled words
And linguistic arcs
the Riddlers send up
rainbow sparks
Challenge all
both far and near
to make their prisms
assemble clear
The Riddlers are a funny pair
laughing as their tricks they share
What happens if one day they uncover
the secrets deep within each other
A playful lot enjoying life
beyond the drudgery and strife
If only in the quiet broke
a slight of hand and puff of smoke
They speak the voice of those within
communications filled to the brim
But when it comes down to the base
they disappear without a trace
still unknown to some
they banter to and fro
They scream secrets
from the mountains
and let all things be known
Thought blatant though
their shouts appear
so many do not seem to hear
In muddled words

Circus Of Life
Life is a circus that I dance within
The music is frantic the rhythm is sin
Soon it's all over before you begin
So chuck all your worries straight into the bin!
Get out and breathe let your pulse pick up pace
Enjoy what you can and trip up the rat race
Open your heart put a smile on your face
Wasting time is a weakness and such a disgrace!
Seek out and do what you've not done before
Explore making love and forget acts of war
Get off of your knees pull your face off the floor
I'll give you a push, march your feet out that door!
Life is a wonder of beautiful sights
No time for the fussing no time for the fights
Lets all just agree that we have equal rights
And set out to taste all the worldly delights!
Life is my circus the ringmaster me
For my mind is open and thus I am free
If to live is your wish then come follow me
What fun I will show you what a life it will be!
The music is frantic the rhythm is sin
Soon it's all over before you begin
So chuck all your worries straight into the bin!
Get out and breathe let your pulse pick up pace
Enjoy what you can and trip up the rat race
Open your heart put a smile on your face

She In The Mist
Her gowns flow as a spider's web
White misty robes of luxurious thread
The softened features of her face
Light of frame this ghost of grace
Silver eyes cast a noble stare
Shards of frost under raven hair
Chiseled features carved in stone
Pale and bleached as sun on bone
Soft pillowed lips hold sweetened glaze
To set man's credulous heart ablaze
Enticing hands gifted in touch
A tease of intrigue becomes too much
A silver chain surrounds her wrist
As if a beacon in the mist
She knows the hearts and wants of men
And waits for freedom from her den
When first their eyes are cast on she
Morality demands they flee
They've seen her a thousand times or more
Her pleasures more persistent than before
Her smile makes one's resolve grow weak
Paralyzed and unable to speak
And while she baits them with her charms
Like zombies they rush to her arms
Now once ensnared they soon forget
To fight their way from fervor's net
The more they want the more she'll give
Until she's drained their will to live
When first it seems folly to resist
Beware the danger in the mist
Upon her chain the names in list
Those who fall prey to Temptation's kiss
White misty robes of luxurious thread
The softened features of her face
Light of frame this ghost of grace
Silver eyes cast a noble stare
Shards of frost under raven hair
Chiseled features carved in stone
Pale and bleached as sun on bone

Flies And Lies
What lies behind the eyes of the flies
Those that scurry about the air
Listening to secrets no one would share
They are watching and they know
Hiding in places no one else will go
Tiny spies with kaleidoscope eyes
In so many angles colors and numbers
They see and hear you and me
As we comment on sugar and tea
When discovered become an aggravation
Beats of their wings an agitation
Their bellies full of dirty defamation
They buzz from one to another
Sharing regurgitated slander
With the slobs to which they pander
I like the flies, they're easy targets
Just like lambs to the slaughter
They become practice for my swatter
Those that scurry about the air
Listening to secrets no one would share
They are watching and they know
Hiding in places no one else will go
Tiny spies with kaleidoscope eyes
In so many angles colors and numbers

Regarding Neverland
In the mind we are whatever we are...
That skin that hair a beast so fair
A fairy princess with eyes so rare
We are sinners we are saints
Lies are true and truth it taints
We are lovers rebels and soldiers
We are younger though we are older
Speak in names though names we're not
Labels and titles hearts cold passions hot
We whisper softly a blatant shout
Invite in demons cast angels out
We prey on weakness we pray to god
We find them curious then deem them odd
We think they're fat, they think we're thin
What do we imagine we are within
What we conceive is what we are
A setting sun or rising star
We don't look back filled with regret
Though I don't gamble I like to bet
The minds' a circus upon a shelf
I keep the best thoughts just for myself
Is it real or fantasy
Suppose that question is up to thee
Nothing and no one are we at all
But what our minds beg to recall
Within our thoughts are our release
Where chains are broken and battles cease
Where love is born and friendship grows
And beyond the thistle a paper rose
Your minds' a vessel conscience the key
Come back to Neverland and you'll be free
That skin that hair a beast so fair
A fairy princess with eyes so rare
We are sinners we are saints
Lies are true and truth it taints
We are lovers rebels and soldiers
We are younger though we are older
Speak in names though names we're not

The Cutting Weed
Deep within the recesses of isolation and gloom
Grow the roots of anger, hatred and impending doom
Spread they like the fungus from each cell to every part
Their tentacles consume their way
Through innocence and heart
When finally they rout themselves into those sacred spaces
Growing muted and with vigor with no trace in tender faces
Festering within the mind emotions and words become a circus
It's destination through aching flesh to breach out at the surface
Just beneath the itching skin it waits for blade of knife
To pierce the darkness kept within
And burst with howling to the light
The blossom just a bud at first
Fed on red rain to quench it's thirst
It's petals rough and scarlet worn
Upon the gentile rind now scored
It's tissues raised like rusted clumps
Patterned twists of lumps and bumps
A scream from desperation's keep
The weed amongst their gallows steep
Though sharpened trowel carves with care
The flowered badge of courage there
It hides the bloom of blood let drain
It's draping soaked with sorrow's stain
With pride it flaunts to those who know
For within their gardens also grow
Similar screaming recitations
Arranged as floral recreations
The haunting gardens of this child
Have grown unchecked, rampant and wild
Cast your eyes upon these meadows
Of thorny brush and fallen petals
Upon your apathy they feed
The hording roots of cutting weed
As for their lives you are responsible
It is you they'll hold accountable
Now look closely at the swell of cutting weeds that grow
From Hell
Grow the roots of anger, hatred and impending doom
Spread they like the fungus from each cell to every part
Their tentacles consume their way
Through innocence and heart
When finally they rout themselves into those sacred spaces
Growing muted and with vigor with no trace in tender faces

The Mirror Of Miriam Gray
Miriam look in the mirror, what do you see?
Does the reflection before you set you free?
Reach out and touch with your heart, what do you feel?
Suddenly something about this isn't real
Miriam why do you look at me this way?
Don't hesitate, what is it you want to say?
Miriam Miriam darling don't you see?
The only way to salvation is through me
Miriam treasure what is it that I can do?
To make you forget all the fallacies you've been through
Pick up your pen hold it firmly in your hand
I am the muse you can use at your command
Miriam why now do I feel such distrust?
Did something happen to crack your iron crust?
Miriam it doesn't have to end this way
Think with your pen and your savior's on his way
You're frustrating me with your lack of will to act
You're behaving as if by some thought you've been attacked
Why do you back far away from that wide open door?
Why have you scattered your black sequenced gown to the floor?
Miriam Miriam you still have a choice
Come back to the mirror and listen to my voice
Miriam I know the fear you keep inside
There isn't a thing in this world from me you can hide
Miriam pick up the pen and start with your name
A strangers' and stranger as you are just the same
Miriam relax and don't scribble off in a shout
Take a deep breath and the right words will come rushing out
If his friendship is deceitful and full of cruel trickery
Remember your one true salvation, is me
Does the reflection before you set you free?
Reach out and touch with your heart, what do you feel?
Suddenly something about this isn't real
Miriam why do you look at me this way?
Don't hesitate, what is it you want to say?

Unwanted Rescue
Now let me rest near azure sheets of silver and white
Stretched upon the silk of brown and gold
Dreaming upon light splashed crowns of cotton
Far from winter's bitter sting of cold
Let me awake to the chipper chatter of jokers
Wandering through thickets of sensual scents of bloom
Laughing with colors of rainbows that play in the tree tops
Far from the dismal and monotone of my room
Let me test strength against winds with the force of eruption
Bathed in the blue flashing strobes of a grumbling sky
Wincing in pain as the needles strike down from dark specters
Absorbing the power of she where her anger resides
Liberate I from the vessel that rips me from rapture
Leave me as beaten and battered as those who remain
Take me not from my paradise fading with distance
I care not should anyone remember my name
Stretched upon the silk of brown and gold
Dreaming upon light splashed crowns of cotton
Far from winter's bitter sting of cold
Let me awake to the chipper chatter of jokers
Wandering through thickets of sensual scents of bloom
Laughing with colors of rainbows that play in the tree tops
Far from the dismal and monotone of my room
Let me test strength against winds with the force of eruption
Bathed in the blue flashing strobes of a grumbling sky

True Woman
Like a man of sensitivity
A woman too can know both sides
Experience anger strength and power
Of the twin within resides
Know that I am Feminine as
The goddess of the moon
As Venus is my witness
For a poet's song I swoon
Wisdom allows all opinions
Rest upon her breast
Opens the heart to every song
And loves the very best
A woman too can know both sides
Experience anger strength and power
Of the twin within resides
Know that I am Feminine as
The goddess of the moon
As Venus is my witness
For a poet's song I swoon

Rest upon her breast
Opens the heart to every song

The Grief Conquerer
The dawn nagged to awake me
In light of the new day
Excited of milestones small and sweet
The commencement of a new time
Bathed in ruby robes
Under which was the sound of little feet
On such joyous of occasions
One forgets the world
And splashes in the laughter from the heart
But little did I know that when
The playful we came home
There was something lurking
Waiting in the dark
A red light flashed insistently
That I should pay it mind
And a voice filled the celebrated air
The glitter turned to ashes
As the evil clouds rolled in
To hear of news so tragic and unfair
The murder of a mother
And the loss of my friends father
Both hit me like a semi in the skid
I could not believe
please let it be my ears deceived
That an old neighbor had done the things he did
Now batten down the hatches as the winds blow unsecured
Life sends another hurricane my way
Secure her in her mooring
And weather out the storm
While we wait we'll try to have fun anyway
This sharp and harsh reminder of the fickleness of life
Draws my focus to the reason I remain
But for the warning in my heart
I am determined to do my part
And try to bring them comfort for the pain
While in my mind I grieved
It was in love my heart believed
When a tiny face so beautiful and fair
Looked up and smiled at me
A rescue from reality
With his embrace I finally found
The strength to breathe
In light of the new day
Excited of milestones small and sweet
The commencement of a new time
Bathed in ruby robes
Under which was the sound of little feet
On such joyous of occasions
One forgets the world
And splashes in the laughter from the heart

Thank Yooos Dr. Seuss
When I was a child
I was not allowed
To follow along with the reading crowd
But once in a while I'd get loose
And seek the rhymes of Dr. Seuss
I'd wish a private library
Of silly words and poetry
The thought provoking they induce
Those clever words of Dr. Seuss
A funny literary maze
A witty little turn of phrase
Not fairy tales and Mother Goose
Read me the lines of Dr. Seuss!
I've read other's along the way
And some are very good I'll say
But in all these years I've never found
A prose as unique as his sound
Try as we might we'll not reproduce
The splendid fun of Dr. Seuss
Even today I call on the past
Making childhood memories last
Though an adult and fully grown
I have a child of my own
We both enjoy cookies and moo cow juice
And the magical world of Dr. Seuss
I was not allowed
To follow along with the reading crowd
But once in a while I'd get loose
And seek the rhymes of Dr. Seuss

Tears Of Strength
When you're so strong for the many who depend on you
Who marvel that you stand after what you've been through
And how you smile with open arms into which they fly
I wonder...do you cry?
When you shoulder the burden of those far too weak
When you open your voice for those who can not speak
When you alone are shelter for the scared who hide
I wonder...do you cry?
Do you cry inside when your focused face seems made of stone?
Do you cry when late night hours find you alone?
Is there ever a teardrop deep inside of you?
Will there be someone to dry them if you shed a few?
When you laugh to bring love to someone else's heart
When you pick up the pieces of one torn apart
When you bring hope to the hopeless under darkened skies
I wonder...do you cry?
When you finally grow weary from your servicing years
And duty has come to free you of your frailty fears
When life tells you that it's finally time to say goodbye
I wonder...will they cry?
Who marvel that you stand after what you've been through
And how you smile with open arms into which they fly
I wonder...do you cry?
When you shoulder the burden of those far too weak
When you open your voice for those who can not speak
When you alone are shelter for the scared who hide

She Beast
If It spoke the words of laymen
Would It's tongue become undone?
Would It babble, mumble, fumble?
Through the thoughts that make It one
Would It scramble to define
Another language to make clear?
As enticement to this mind
A wicked beast she be my dear...
Would It's tongue become undone?
Would It babble, mumble, fumble?
Through the thoughts that make It one
Would It scramble to define
Another language to make clear?
As enticement to this mind
A wicked beast she be my dear...
Nighttime Rainbows
High away
in the clouds floating softly...
from the day
Gentle one
sleeps on the wings of peaceful doves...
far from the setting sun
Loving arms
cradle the cherub drifting...
safe from harm
Innocent light
shine on flights of fancy...
hold on tight
Little Love
There is a rainbow waiting...
smiling above
High away
blow me a kiss
and make a wish
now run along...
to magic play
in the clouds floating softly...
from the day
Gentle one
sleeps on the wings of peaceful doves...
far from the setting sun
Loving arms
cradle the cherub drifting...
safe from harm
Innocent light
shine on flights of fancy...
hold on tight
Little Love
There is a rainbow waiting...
smiling above
High away
blow me a kiss
and make a wish
now run along...
to magic play
Another Incarnation
The irony of life is
That we should emerge
Again anew
In times of greatest strife
But for those
Who do not submit
To her biting callous wit
Be the ones
Who will carry on
And survive
That we should emerge
Again anew
In times of greatest strife
But for those
Who do not submit
To her biting callous wit
Be the ones
Who will carry on
And survive
On The Sickly Days
I am not well today
This bitter cold makes me feel old
and prematurely gray
I'll go to take some rest
I feel an aching in my chest
there is no faking this arrest
I'll need some sleep to tell my best...
I could take the drugs
that hide the mess
they serve to wake
the bugs
those sluggish mind
altering thugs
make me regress
I am not well today
but a lovely spot of tea
will gently soothe and comfort me
as any PhD in white can see
Come morning time I'll be okay...

Not Incapable
We are capable
smiling outside
mask the monster inside
that we hide
We are capable
love we pretend
bitter words
that we bend
In the end
We are capable
unsuspecting the wrong
of the few
that we knew
for so long
We are capable
of everything
anything
that we bring
into ourselves
we are capable...
smiling outside
mask the monster inside
that we hide
We are capable

that we bend
In the end
We are capable
unsuspecting the wrong

Delta Rose
Goodnight Delta Rose
Close your eyes to daydreams
And hope to comprehend a stranger's tongues
Let your petals hold you close
As blankets in the cool of night
Just before the daybreak new dew comes
Soft bashful blushing bloom
Seek the peace of midnight
Beyond the twinkling starlights that confuse
Purple blues and gold
Be innocent and humble
Kiss the breeze that makes you mumble

And hope to comprehend a stranger's tongues
Let your petals hold you close
As blankets in the cool of night

Soft bashful blushing bloom
Seek the peace of midnight

Commands Of The New Day
When again the sun's arise
A heart will open up to fear
When the naive stand before it
To learn the lessons of the tear
Again will come a dialog
Ordered by the court
One last chance to make it right
A greenhorn's last resort
A heart will open up to fear
When the naive stand before it
To learn the lessons of the tear
Again will come a dialog
Ordered by the court
One last chance to make it right
A greenhorn's last resort
Strange Encounters With A Grimalkin
What do you think, the very first time that we meet?
That chipper girl's a little strange but still she's kind of sweet
Looking past her eyes something hides growling beyond it
And for the life of me no matter what I think I can not put my finger on it
Maybe a pain an anger or a sad regret?
She suffers from the weight of them inside I'll bet
Her smile genuine upon her kitten's face
would show no other struggles in that unknown darkened space
Was choice the reason for the strength she lost?
When choosing was make for her did he shoulder the outrageous cost?
I wish I knew what it was that gave me this unease...
Was she the victim of abuse of a brutal cold hearted tease?
Did someone take away her innocence and leave her bare?
Who am I that I should question this or even care?
This cat must have nine lives or so it would appear
There are topics of discussion that she seems to fear...
Alarmed she seeks her refuge up in the tallest tree
But like a Cheshire she looks down and sends a smile to me
I don't want to be around if she should unsheathe her sharpened claws
There is no doubt I'd yelp a shout should my nose contact her pause

The Rush Master
In quiet contemplation suddenly she feels him
His silken breath along her naked neck
A barely detectable touch, gentle brush
And out of waking she is awakened
Into altered states where in her nightmares he awaits
A rousing deep within her chest
Renders her will to react in ways most unexpected
And all too familiar for her moral comfort
Too persuasive to overcome or forbear he sends her
Floating within a gossamer velvet mist
Far away she hears a hint of wicked smirk
Without a single stroke her body consumed by heated rush
The spell of languor sabotage her resistance and put her to shame
Though desire for his charms set her essence aflame
A single kiss barely felt upon her blushing lips
The warmth of his spectral embrace surrounds her hips
A fire ignited soon escalates and she has forgotten her virtue
Reduced to a savage of locomotive biology and urgency
Brought to her knees desire pleads for release
A bowed head a whispered beg breathing heaves
A phantom vision is he, epicurean witch of lechery
Thriving within her very being feeding off lustful energies
Demanding from she full attention to service his erotic needs
Such malicious hatred seethes from she
For he cages her in lock and key
Stripped of her humility and dignity weakened
She curses the very nature of his existence within
And yet...
At that moment when such rewarded release erupts
Sending ecstasy flooding into all elements of body mind and soul
Not an adverse word can be heard, not one
In silence, though no secret to him she anticipates with fervor
When again he whispers her name and sends her blood to rush
His silken breath along her naked neck
A barely detectable touch, gentle brush
And out of waking she is awakened
Into altered states where in her nightmares he awaits

Renders her will to react in ways most unexpected

The Vagabond Marching Band
Harlequin Drum Major
Humbly I ask thee
Whisk me along in your merriment
And set my spirit free
The noise outside is deafening
Is my destiny at hand
Lead me to my proper place
Within your marching band
The Drum Major is a creature
Unlike any ever seen
His uniform the magic colors
of his royalty
His presence is a wonder
Mesmerizing to behold
Jeweled baton the prop with which
His stories all unfold
I am a lowly outcast
Never fit in any crowd
No matter how I shouted
I could not be heard out loud
I risk my identity to disappear
Without a trace
It's unimportant now that anyone
Should know my face
Acceptance is a false prophet
Of pampas snobbery
What others wish of belonging
May not be the sound for me
The end is the beginning
From where music makes it's start
I chose to follow Harlequin
Drum Major of my heart
Harlequin Drum Major
I will follow thee
To the grandest orchestra
Beyond the boisterous sea
The whisper of my trumpet
Will be one with all the rest
I do not beg a Knighthood
Though...
I'll play my very best
Humbly I ask thee
Whisk me along in your merriment
And set my spirit free
The noise outside is deafening
Is my destiny at hand
Lead me to my proper place
Within your marching band

Castor and Pollux
Lanky gaunt and deathly pale
Frigid turquoise eyes in crystal
Blaze
A shaft of fire light
Through the heart of man or woman
Draped
In heavy pallid weathered trench
To large
It seems to be
For it's frail
Like structure
Though stronger than any
Temptation
Long elegant skillful
Hands
Agile of intercourse
Seductive lips framed by wit
Passion invoker wielder
Satin voice
And sweet rum's breath
Scabrous length of white mane
Tumbles to crash
On the shore
Of broad straight shoulders
Caressing
The crook of the throat
Master of the inner domain
King tyrant
To a gentile queen
Dominating the passive
Lord of lust
To all things wished
Of his twin
Frigid turquoise eyes in crystal
Blaze
A shaft of fire light
Through the heart of man or woman
Draped
In heavy pallid weathered trench
To large
It seems to be

The Grief Conquerer
The dawn nagged to awake me
In light of the new day
Excited of milestones small and sweet
The commencement of a new time
Bathed in ruby robes
Under which was the sound of little feet
On such joyous of occasions
One forgets the world
And splashes in the laughter from the heart
But little did I know that when
The playful we came home
There was something lurking
Waiting in the dark
A red light flashed insistently
That I should pay it mind
And a voice filled the celebrated air
The glitter turned to ashes
As the evil clouds rolled in
To hear of news so tragic and unfair
The murder of a mother
And the loss of my friends father
Both hit me like a Semi in the skid
I could not believe
please let it be my ears deceived
That an old neighbor had done the things he did
Now batten down the hatches as the winds blow unsecured
Life sends another hurricane my way
Secure her in her mooring
And weather out the storm
While we wait we'll try to have fun anyway
This sharp and harsh reminder of the fickleness of life
Draws my focus to the reason I remain
But for the warning in my heart
I am determined to do my part
And try to bring them comfort for the pain
While in my mind I grieved
It was in love my heart believed
When a tiny face so beautiful and fair
Looked up and smiled at me
A rescue from reality
With his embrace I finally found
The strength to breathe
In light of the new day
Excited of milestones small and sweet
The commencement of a new time
Bathed in ruby robes
Under which was the sound of little feet
On such joyous of occasions
One forgets the world
And splashes in the laughter from the heart
