The Muse

It's like a reflection
In a cool pool of water
Not so clear as a mirror
But the same looks back anyway
It's that commonality you share
Making you completely aware
Of your brush with the divine
So close
Shifting colors in the sky
Across your skin
Changing prisms in your eyes
And within
Anticipating every new sight
Running until they
Over take you
And when they do
You keep returning to the divine
The looking glass fragmented
Repeat the incantation
Until you submit
Exhaustion your companion
Thriving on the rush the exhilaration
One day you may be content
With with the flux
You were once
So long as it remains
So long as it is in your eyes
So long as it fills your head
With the divine
Chase it down
Into the pool before you
Arms outstretched falling forward
Into the divine
The quivering reflection
On it's knees
Swept into those dreams
Of the the divine
Swooning over those eyes
Graceful cruelty
Of the divine.
