A Question For Truth

What is it worth
To us in youth
When we are raised up
To tell the truth?

Does it make us better
Than little white lies
Are the grand ones
Our own disguise

Is it perception
Within our minds
Bound to hard facts
Choked on insight

Is it worth coming clean
Do you favor honesty
When protecting everything
From the hardship you could bring

They say truth
is possibly
the very best
in policy

But ask a man
for his opinion
He may lie
for his dominion

There is no honor
Just what we see
and what we think
Our words might mean

I question life
In all it's forms
For even great truth
Has it's thorns...
