I can hear the music start to grow
Slowly in my ears
As my mind weaves starlight and sunlight
Into a symphony
If only I could bring the sound
from my head
To my fingertips in golden drips
Across the paper waiting
With open white
And black lines holding the notes
in place
When my heart sings my mind
Scribbles endlessly
Trying so desperately to capture
The essence of my soul
So you would know
How it swells, growing louder
With each beat that's played
Upon my heart strings
Voice of my soul sings
My Mandolin plays
Through silent lips
Breathing whispers
Quiet cries and moans inside
Silver waves crash in harmony
Like a song bird's flight to ecstasy
Like a delicious madness in me
My hands they tremble
My instincts humble
To the voice that sings within
The floating colors
The flashing twinkles
Is where it all begins
A single note upon a page
