Daydream Interrupted

It happened again today
I let daydreams get the best of me
Walking into walls
Whistling down the halls
Pretending to be free

Found myself lost in another world
So I thought I'd spend some time
Playing in a summer rain
Humming the same refrain
Pretending I could fly

Then I wandered down a busy street
Paying no mind to the folks walking by
Until a curious stranger
With flashing eyes of danger
Caught my roving eyes

I turned my head to get a better look
At the figure who was watching me
Meeting his seductive stare
No one else around seemed to care
He held his hand out to me

His charm was far more than I could resist
I felt the pull to meet his touch
Feeling the heat under my skin
Would this be how it would begin
The yearning became too much

But I was lost in daydreams again
Wishing this one would keep playing out
Until reality broke my concentration
Imagine my insolent frustration
But that's what daydreams are all about
